About our electrician labels

Clear labelling makes electrical equipment easier to identify, inspect and maintain. Our custom electrician labels can be printed with your business details, logo, equipment references, test information or your own finished design.

They are suitable for electricians, electrical contractors, facilities managers, landlords, maintenance companies and businesses that inspect or manage electrical equipment.

What can electrician labels be used for?

Personalised electrical labels can be used for a wide range of installation, inspection and identification tasks, including:

  • PAT testing and appliance identification
  • Inspection and retest information
  • Cable and wiring references
  • Switch, socket and isolator identification
  • Distribution boards and electrical panels
  • Asset numbers and equipment references
  • Installation and maintenance records
  • Engineer contact details
  • Electrical warnings and operating instructions

Labels can include fixed information that is the same on every copy or blank spaces where dates, appliance numbers and engineer details can be added when required.

Custom PAT test labels

Create personalised PAT test labels featuring your company name, telephone number or logo. Your layout can include spaces for the appliance ID, test date, retest date, engineer’s initials and test result.

A PAT label provides a visible indication of the information entered by the person carrying out the inspection. It should be used alongside appropriate testing procedures and record keeping. The customer is responsible for deciding what information must appear and ensuring that the completed label is suitable for its intended purpose.

Two ways to order your electrical labels

Choose between Text & Logo Labels and Custom Vinyl Labels depending on the design, surface and working environment.

  • Text & Logo Labels – supplied on rolls with a white background. These are a practical option for indoor PAT testing, service records and straightforward equipment identification.
  • Custom Vinyl Labels – printed in full colour and supplied on sheets. Vinyl provides greater resistance to water, handling and general wear.

Paper labels on rolls

Paper labels are quick to peel and apply, making rolls convenient when inspecting a large number of appliances or pieces of equipment. They are best suited to clean, dry surfaces in indoor environments.

If information will be added by hand, allow enough blank space within the design and use a suitable permanent pen. We recommend testing the pen and label combination before beginning a large batch.

Durable vinyl electrical labels

Custom vinyl labels are a better choice where the label may encounter moisture, regular cleaning or frequent handling. They can be used on suitable smooth surfaces such as equipment casings, panels, toolboxes and some cable applications.

Apply vinyl labels to a clean, dry surface free from oil, dust and cleaning residue. Adhesion can vary on textured plastics, powder-coated finishes, tightly curved cables and low-surface-energy plastics, so testing is recommended before placing a larger order.

Electrical warning and identification labels

Your design can include equipment numbers, circuit references, operating instructions or warning messages. Contrasting colours and clearly sized text can make important information easier to notice and read.

Where a particular symbol, colour, wording, material or label position is required by legislation, an industry standard or a customer specification, it is your responsibility to check that the submitted design meets those requirements.

Shapes and sizes

Choose rectangular, circular, square or oval electrician labels in a range of preset sizes. Smaller labels are useful for plugs, appliances and tools, while larger options provide more room for test information, warnings and contact details.

Measure the available application area before ordering. Leave enough room around handwritten fields and avoid positioning important information too close to the edge of the label.

Upload your artwork or create a simple design

Upload your own completed artwork or create a layout containing your text and logo. For the clearest print, supply editable vector artwork or a high-resolution image at 300dpi.

If your design includes colour or artwork running to the edge, extend the background 2–3mm beyond the cutting line. Keep important wording and logos at least 1–2mm inside the finished edge.
