Warning Labels

Our custom warning labels provide a clear and cost-effective way to display safety information on equipment, packaging, containers and workplace surfaces. Every design is printed in black only, with the selected paper material providing the white or brightly coloured background.

Choose from the compatible paper colours, shapes and sizes available in the configurator. Warning labels are printed in the UK, supplied on rolls and available in quantities starting from just 50 labels.

Black print on high-visibility paper

These labels use strong black print to provide clear contrast against the selected paper material. Bright fluorescent materials are particularly useful when a warning needs to be noticed quickly.

The background colour is provided by the label material itself. We do not print these warning labels in full colour or add coloured elements to the artwork.

Warning labels for equipment and packaging

Custom warning labels can be used wherever important instructions, hazards or precautions need to be presented clearly. Typical applications include machinery, electrical equipment, packaging, storage containers, maintenance areas and workplace equipment.

Popular wording includes Warning, Caution, High Voltage, Hot Surface, Fragile, Keep Dry and Handle with Care. You can supply your required wording, symbol or complete black artwork.

Choose the right shape and size

Rectangular warning labels provide useful space for a symbol, heading and supporting message. Circular, square and oval options are also available for applications where a different shape is more suitable.

Choose a size that allows all wording and symbols to remain clear at the expected viewing distance. Avoid placing too much information on a small label, as this can reduce its effectiveness.

Supplying your warning-label artwork

Upload your completed black artwork or create a simple design using our online designer. For the best print quality, supply editable vector artwork where possible or a high-resolution bitmap image at 300dpi.

All elements of the submitted design should be black. Any white areas within the artwork will show the colour of the selected label material.

Applying your warning labels

Apply the labels to a clean, dry and smooth surface. Remove dust, oil, grease and cleaning residue before application, then press the entire label firmly into place, paying particular attention to the edges.

Paper warning labels are best suited to dry indoor environments. If your labels will be exposed to water, chemicals, extreme temperatures or demanding outdoor conditions, contact us before ordering so we can discuss whether another product may be more suitable.

Checking suitability and compliance

The customer is responsible for checking that the selected wording, symbol, size, colour and material are appropriate for the intended application and meet any relevant legal, industry or workplace requirements.

If a particular warning symbol or layout is required, please supply the correct approved artwork rather than relying on a decorative or approximate version.

Artwork proofs before printing

A PDF proof is available when requested. This gives you an opportunity to check the wording, symbol, layout and numbering before production. We will only begin printing after the proof has been approved.
