About our laminated paper labels

Our custom laminated labels on rolls combine full-colour paper label printing with a clear protective layer over the printed surface. The laminate improves resistance to scuffs, rubbing, light splashes and regular handling while giving the finished label a professional matt or gloss appearance.

What are laminated labels?

Laminated labels are printed paper labels covered with a thin transparent protective film. This additional layer helps shield the ink and printed surface, making the labels more durable than standard unlaminated paper labels.

Where can laminated labels be used?

  • Product jars and bottles
  • Cosmetic and skincare packaging
  • Candles and home-fragrance products
  • Gift boxes and retail packaging
  • Food and drink packaging
  • Cleaning-product containers
  • Frequently handled products
  • Promotional and branded packaging

Gloss laminated labels

Gloss lamination adds a bright, reflective finish that can make colours appear stronger and more vibrant. It works particularly well with photography, colourful artwork and packaging designed to stand out on shelves.

Matt laminated labels

Matt lamination produces a smoother, less reflective appearance. It is a good choice for understated branding, softer colours and packaging where a more refined finish is preferred.

Improved moisture and scuff resistance

The laminate helps protect the printed face against light moisture, splashes, fingerprints, rubbing and everyday handling. This makes laminated labels useful for products used in kitchens, bathrooms, shops and other busy environments.

These remain paper-based labels beneath the laminate. The edges and adhesive are not completely sealed, so they should not be described as fully waterproof or used for prolonged immersion. Choose custom vinyl labels when greater water resistance is required.

Custom shapes, sizes and artwork

Create laminated labels in rectangular, circular, square, oval or custom shapes. Upload your complete artwork, add your logo and product information, or use our online design options to create a straightforward label layout.

If your background colour or artwork runs to the edge, include 2–3 mm of bleed. Keep important wording, logos and other details approximately 1–2 mm inside the cutting line.

Supplied on rolls

Laminated labels are supplied on rolls for organised storage and convenient application by hand. If you intend to use an automatic applicator, contact us before ordering so that the roll direction, core and other finishing requirements can be confirmed.

Proofing and production

A PDF proof is available if requested, and we only print after you have approved it. Printed proofs and material samples can also be arranged if you need to compare the matt and gloss finishes or test the labels on your packaging.

Orders are normally produced within 1–2 working days, with tracked and urgent delivery options available at checkout.

Laminated Paper label FAQs

What is a laminated label?
It is a printed paper label with a transparent protective film applied over the printed surface.
What does the laminate protect against?
It improves resistance to scuffs, rubbing, fingerprints, light splashes and everyday handling.
Are laminated paper labels waterproof?
No. The printed face has additional protection, but the paper edges and adhesive are not completely sealed. Choose vinyl for applications requiring greater water resistance.
What is the difference between matt and gloss lamination?
Gloss laminate is brighter and more reflective. Matt laminate has a smoother, more understated finish with less glare.
Are laminated labels supplied on rolls?
Yes. These labels are supplied on rolls for convenient storage and application.
Can I choose a custom size or shape?
Yes. Select a standard shape and size or enter your required custom dimensions.
Can the labels be printed in full colour?
Yes. We can print logos, photography, product details and complete full-colour artwork beneath the laminate.
Can laminated labels be used on chilled products?
They can tolerate occasional light moisture, but condensation may reach the exposed paper edges. Waterproof vinyl is generally better for regularly chilled or wet products.
Can I write on laminated labels?
Most ordinary pens will not write reliably on the laminate. If handwritten information is required, contact us about leaving an unlaminated area or choosing another material.
Can I request material samples or a proof?
Yes. A PDF proof is available if requested, and we only print after approval. Matt and gloss material samples or printed proofs can also be arranged.
