About our custom candle labels
Create professionally printed candle labels for jars, tins, containers, boxes and wax melt packaging. Add your logo, fragrance name, product details and safety information to give every item a consistent, finished appearance.
Our labels are suitable for independent candle makers, home-fragrance businesses, gift shops and larger producers. Flexible quantities make it easy to create labels for a new fragrance, seasonal collection or established product range.
Labels that reflect your candle brand
Your candle label is an important part of the product. It introduces the fragrance, communicates the style of your business and helps customers recognise your range.
Create labels for:
- Glass candle jars
- Metal candle tins
- Ceramic candle vessels
- Wax melt boxes and packets
- Reed diffuser packaging
- Sample candles and fragrance testers
- Gift boxes and presentation packaging
- Seasonal and limited-edition collections
- Candle warning and safety information
- CLP information where applicable
What can I include on a candle label?
Your design can include both decorative branding and practical product information, such as:
- Your logo and business name
- The candle or fragrance name
- A description of the scent
- Wax type and product weight
- Approximate burn time
- Burning and care instructions
- Safety warnings and symbols
- Batch or product codes
- Business contact details
- CLP information where required
The exact information required depends on the product, formulation and market in which it will be supplied. StickyLabels prints the information you provide but does not assess candle safety or determine your legal labelling requirements.
Paper labels on rolls
Paper roll labels are a popular choice for candle jars, boxes and other dry indoor packaging. The roll format keeps labels organised and makes them quick to peel and apply during production.
Choose from matt white paper, gloss white paper and biodegradable white paper, with laminated paper options available through our wider custom-label range.
- Matt white paper – a smooth, understated finish suited to natural and minimalist branding.
- Gloss white paper – a brighter finish that helps colours appear vibrant.
- Biodegradable white paper – a matt paper option for businesses looking for an alternative material.
- Laminated paper – adds protection against moisture, scuffing and regular handling.
Vinyl labels on sheets
Vinyl is a durable choice for candle containers that may encounter moisture, oils or frequent handling. Our custom vinyl labels are supplied on sheets and available in gloss white, matt white, gloss clear and extra-thick, extra-sticky gloss white finishes.
Clear vinyl is particularly effective on glass jars because the vessel can show through the unprinted areas. Remember that the candle wax, glass colour and product behind a transparent label will affect how the printed design appears.
Choosing the right label for a candle vessel
Candle containers vary considerably. Glass may be smooth, coated, frosted or textured, while tins and ceramic vessels can have curved or uneven surfaces. The adhesive and label size should therefore be tested on the actual container.
Apply labels to clean, dry vessels at room temperature before filling or lighting the candle. Remove dust, grease, wax and fingerprints, as these can prevent the adhesive from forming a reliable bond.
Avoid placing a large rectangular label across a pronounced curve. Smaller labels or shapes with rounded edges often conform more successfully to curved jars and tins.
Test labels throughout the candle’s use
A candle vessel can become warm while the product is burning. Heat, fragrance oil, wax residue and repeated handling may affect the label, print or adhesive.
Test the finished label on the actual filled candle as part of your normal product and burn testing. The test should cover the complete expected life of the candle, not only the first few minutes of use.
StickyLabels does not describe standard paper or vinyl labels as heatproof, flameproof or universally resistant to fragrance oils. Material samples are available if you need to carry out suitability testing.
Candle warning labels
Candles should carry suitable warnings and instructions for safe use. These may appear on a separate base label, the main product label or the outer packaging, depending on the design and applicable requirements.
Common information may relate to safe positioning, burn time, wick care, keeping the candle away from children and pets, and never leaving a burning candle unattended. Do not rely on generic wording or symbols without checking that they are appropriate for your product.
You are responsible for establishing which warnings, symbols and instructions are required and for supplying accurate artwork.
CLP labels for scented candles and wax melts
Some scented candles, wax melts and home-fragrance products may require labelling under chemical classification and packaging rules. Whether CLP information is required depends on the ingredients, concentrations, classification and market.
Where applicable, a CLP label may include the product identifier, supplier details, hazard pictograms, signal word, hazard statements, precautionary statements and supplemental information.
Use the classification and wording supplied by a competent source, such as an appropriate Safety Data Sheet or qualified regulatory adviser. We can print your approved CLP artwork, but we do not classify fragrances or verify legal compliance.
Shapes and sizes
Choose rectangular, circular, square or oval candle labels in a range of preset sizes. Use different labels for different parts of the product:
- Front labels for logos and fragrance names
- Base labels for warnings and batch information
- Small circular labels for lids and seals
- Rectangular labels for boxes and wax melt packaging
Measure the available area carefully and test a paper template on the jar before ordering. Make sure the label does not overlap the base, rim or any strongly curved section of the vessel.
Create your candle label design
Choose Text & Logo Labels to build a straightforward design online, or upload complete full-colour artwork through our Custom Labels or Custom Vinyl Labels options.
For the best print quality, supply vector artwork or a high-resolution image at 300dpi. Add 2–3mm bleed if the background runs to the edge and keep important text and safety information at least 1–2mm inside the cutting line.
If you would like to check the layout before printing, request a PDF proof when placing your order.
