Measure the bottle before ordering

Bottles vary considerably in shape and size, so measure the flat or gently curved area where the label will be applied. Avoid positioning the label across sharply tapered sections, moulded details or compound curves, as these can prevent it from sitting flat.

For a wraparound label, measure the required height and the circumference of the bottle. Allow a small gap between the ends unless an overlap is specifically required. A paper template can be cut to size and wrapped around the bottle to check the fit before ordering.

Paper labels for dry bottles

Custom paper labels are supplied on rolls and provide a professional finish for bottles stored and handled in dry conditions. They are a practical choice for room-temperature products, gift packaging and bottles that will not be exposed to moisture.

Waterproof vinyl for chilled bottles

Choose custom vinyl labels on sheets when bottles may encounter refrigeration, condensation, ice buckets, splashes or frequent handling. Gloss or matt white vinyl provides a durable printed surface and is better suited to damp conditions than an unlaminated paper label.

Applying your water bottle labels

For the best adhesion, apply labels to bottles that are clean, dry and at room temperature. Remove dust, grease and moisture from the surface before application. Press the label down firmly from the centre towards the edges and allow the adhesive time to bond before chilling the bottle.

Artwork, proofing and production

Supply editable vector artwork where possible or a high-resolution bitmap at approximately 300 dpi. Include 2–3 mm of bleed when the printed background runs to the edge and keep important wording safely inside the cutting line.

A PDF proof is available if requested, and we only print after you have approved it. Printed proofs and material samples can also be arranged if you need to check the size, fit, colour or material on your actual bottles.
