When you\u2019re designing warning labels or stickers for your business<\/a> or organisation, it\u2019s important to convey a clear and unambiguous message. Warnings that are badly written or contain unfortunate turns of phrase can be confusing but also comical, presenting entirely the wrong image for your brand. Clear warning labels<\/a> are now as important to the packaging as the contents within.<\/p>

The following examples clearly demonstrate how not to word your stickers.<\/strong><\/p>

  1. On a Korean knife: \u2018Keep out of children\u2019.<\/li>
  2. Self-care dentistry is never advised, with one power drill warning: \u2018Not for use as a dental drill\u2019.<\/li>
  3. When designing stickers, try to avoid stating the obvious, like a foaming face wash that warns: \u2018May contain foam\u2019.<\/li>
  4. \u2018Do not turn upside-down\u2019: the badly positioned warning on the underside of a supermarket dessert pot. Oops, too late.<\/li>
  5. Found on another electric tool: \u2018Do not clean ears with this power drill\u2019.<\/li>
  6. And another (it would seem that DIY fanatics must be inherently stupid): \u2018Danger. Do not hold the wrong end of a chainsaw\u2019.<\/li>
  7. Illness disrupts most people\u2019s ability to think and act sensibly. Nevertheless, just to be on the safe side, note the digital thermometer that warns: \u2018Do not use orally after using rectally.\u2019<\/li>
  8. Boob jobs are expensive, but aspiring women should note the sticker \u2018Not to be used for breast augmentation\u2019 on a can of inflator foam for car tyres.
    Mind you, dying can also be pricey, according to this US warning sign:<\/li>
  9. \u2018Touching wires causes instant death. $200 fine.\u2019<\/li>
  10. When warning others, always follow your own rules, unlike this sign spotted on a fence: \u2018Do not hang signs on fence\u2019.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    2. Also, warning stickers should discourage inappropriate use of equipment, such as on the microwave oven that advises homeowners: \u2018Do not use for drying pets\u2019.<\/li>\n \t
    3. Animals don\u2019t drive, although this didn\u2019t prevent one vet from issuing medication for a dog that stated: \u2018Take care when operating a car\u2019.<\/li>\n \t
    4. Hairdryers \u2018must not be used while sleeping\u2019, according to one model, even though it\u2019s horrible waking up with damp hair.<\/li>\n \t
    5.
